One of my collectors asks me more questions than the rest of
the collectors combined. I am starting to become concerned. Any suggestions?
Answer: Unfortunately, you did not provide enough information. If they are
questions the collector should already know the answer to, it would appear
there is a problem. On the other hand, a collection manager who does
not encourage questions from subordinates is asking for trouble. Collectors
cannot ask for help have no alternative but try to work problems out
for themselves and by themselves. This results in mistakes that could
have been prevented, and since the manager is ultimately responsible
for the actions and the mistakes made by their subordinates, discouraging
questions is counterproductive and counterintuitive.
