A Little Bit of Credit Humor
Certain phrases heard in the credit department have a meaning all their
own. Here are a few examples:
The statement: "You are ideally suited for your present position" normally
means "Abandon all hope of ever being promoted."
When a customer says: " We don't share our financial statements with
any creditors" it often means "Our financial statements are so bad they
even scare us."
If your manager says: "You will receive additional compensation at your
next review for the new duties being assigned to you" this normally means "Don't
hold your breath."
When a customer says: "The check is already in the mail" it usually
means "We will mail it today, or maybe tomorrow...any by the end of the
week at the latest". |
