An applicant claims to be tax exempt. I asked for a copy of their resale certificate, and I received instead their federal tax ID number. What now?

Answer: Contact the customer and ask for the resale certificate. A federal tax ID number plays no part in this process of determining whether or not to charge our customers sales tax.
