As it relates to federal antitrust regulations, why are terms considered
a part of the price we charge?
Answer: : Consider this
example. You have two customers. They are like customers. Customer A
receives terms of 5% 30, net 31. Customer B has terms of Net 30. Even
if you sell these customers at the same price, your company is in reality
offering a five percent price advantage to Customer A and this may [or
may not] be a violation of federal antitrust laws in general and the
Robinson Patman Act in particular. |
