Should we automatically match and offset credits issued to
clear customer deductions?
Answer: I hate to answer
a question with a question, but it is necessary in this case. Do you
mail copies of credits to customers - or do the credits appear on the
customer's monthly statement? If the answer to either question is 'Yes',
then automatic write offs can cause a problem if the customer later takes
the credit memo - which for many of us happens frequently. |
