During a recent performance review, the credit manager told
me to delegate more to the people who report to me - but gave me no specific
guidance. Do you have any suggestions?
Answer: Sure. Identify
key tasks you perform that could be performed by one of your subordinates
based on their current skills. When you delegate, be specific. Make sure
the person you delegate to understands what you need and when it is required.
Be sure they have the time and other resources to complete the assignment,
and instruct them to let you know well in advance of any deadline if
they are having trouble performing or completing their new assignment. |
