We have a policy that all credit applications must be signed.
It seems that the larger the company, the more difficult this is to accomplish.
Should we insist on the applicant completing the application and signing
it?
Answer: We are not as
concerned about whether the application is completed, but we feel it
is important that the application is signed. Why? Because normally a
credit application form is more than simply a way to gather information
about an applicant. The application itself is a contract and by signing
it the applicant company is agreeing to the terms and conditions of sale
contained in your application. Therefore, we think it is appropriate
to ask that the application be signed. |
